Dr J.C. (Jaap) Reijneveld is neurologist and associate professor at the departments of Neurology of the VU University Medical Center and the Academic Medical Centre, both situated in Amsterdam. At both institutions, he treats patients with primary and metastatic brain tumours.
Apart from his clinical work, he is involved in research projects on cognitive disturbances, epilepsy, and quality- and end-of-life issues in patients with primary brain tumours. He is project leader of a number of PhD-projects on underlying mechanisms resulting in epilepsy and cognitive disturbances in patients with brain tumours. Furthermore, he is involved in research projects regarding factors impacting quality of life and the value of supportive care of primary brain tumour patients and their partners. Apart from that he coordinates several projects on genomic markers as prognostic and predictive tools in glioma patients.
Dr Jaap Reijneveld is member of the Dutch Society for Neurology (NvN), past-president of the Dutch Society for Neuro-Oncology (LWNO), member of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO), member of the Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO), past-member of the executive committee of the EORTC Quality of Life Group, and secretary of the EORTC Brain Tumor Group.
