6th EORTC Quality of Life

in Cancer Clinical Trials Conference

12 – 13 May 2025 | Barcelona, Spain

Introduction

We are pleased to announce that the 6th EORTC Quality of Life in Cancer Clinical Trials Conference will take place on the 12th and 13th of May 2025, in Barcelona (Spain). This two-day conference will provide participants with the opportunity to learn from over 35 key opinion leaders on the recent developments in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in cancer clinical research.

The sessions will cover a wide variety of topics that centre on HRQOL and PROs: development of fit-for-purpose measures, design of cancer clinical trials (including early phase trials), use in regulatory and HTA decision-making, and incorporation in daily clinical practice. Special issues relating to different cancer populations such as children, adolescents and young adults, older adults, and rare cancers will also be covered.

Invited speakers will represent different expertise and stakeholder groups, including representatives from international regulatory and health technology assessment bodies, clinicians, patient representatives, statisticians, and methodologists. They will highlight recent advancements in the conceptualisation and implementation of PROs in oncology within Europe and beyond.

With this conference, we will showcase and further foster collaborations that bring people together, so that barriers to implementation of PROs can be minimised. To increase outreach to students and emerging economies, we will provide travel awards to facilitate their attendance with the goal of forging a new generation of researchers globally.

We look forward to welcoming you to our conference in Barcelona!

Sponsoring

The 6th EORTC Quality of Life in Cancer Clinical Trials Conference will provide participants with the opportunity to gain insights into the latest research and methodologies for evaluating quality of life (QoL) and patient-reported outcomes in cancer clinical trials. Participants will explore how QoL data impacts clinical decision-making and cancer care improvements, as well as discuss challenges and solutions in integrating QoL measures in clinical trials.

Your support and sponsorship are important to EORTC and will help us provide the best environment for exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge during this conference. Ultimately, it will also help us pursue our mission of improving the quality of life for patients with cancer.

We are also planning travel grants for participants from emerging economies and for students in order to facilitate their participation in the event.
