Awards at EBCC-15

Recognising Excellence in Breast Cancer Research and Collaboration

Together with the European Breast Cancer Council (EBC Council), we are once again proud to offer participants the opportunity to have their work recognised by the wider breast cancer community. These awards celebrates innovation, collaboration, in breast cancer care and research.

Extending its reach across disciplines, the recognition highlights new creative approaches and joint efforts tackling breast cancer care.

European Breast Cancer Council Young Investigator Innovation Award (EBCC YIIA Award)

What is it?

A prestigious award recognising outstanding original research in medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiotherapy, medical imaging, survivorship, translational and basic research, and healthcare research related to breast cancer.

Who is eligible?

Early and mid-career investigators (up to 45 years old) who submits an original, unpublished abstract to EBCC-15.

What does the award include?

  • €5,000 prize
  • Travel and accommodation reimbursement (up to €1500) and complimentary conference registration.
  • Invitation to the EBCC faculty dinner

How to apply?

Applications are now closed. Successful applicants will be contacted by mid-January.

Selection process

The EBCC Scientific Committee reviews all submitted abstracts and forwards the top entries to the EBCC YIIA Selection Committee. Finalists are evaluated based on:

  • Scientific excellence
  • Innovation
  • Impact on patients and society

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit:

  • A 5-page CV
  • A 2-page outline describing the significance of their work and future research plans

European Breast Cancer Council Multidisciplinary Team Award (EBCC MTEA)

What is it?

A prestigious award for a multidisciplinary team conducting impactful research related to breast cancer.

Who is eligible?

Multidisciplinary teams that submit an original research abstract to EBCC-15 in the fields of medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiotherapy, medical imaging, survivorship, translational and basic research, and health care research related to breast cancer not previously published or presented in another conference. The work needs to be multidisciplinary.

What does the award include?

  • €5,000 prize
  • Travel and accommodation reimbursement (up to €1500) and complimentary conference registration.
  • Invitation to the EBCC faculty dinner (for maximum of 3 people)

Applications are now closed. Successful applicants will be contacted by mid-January.

Selection process

The EBCC Scientific Committee that has reviewed all the abstracts submitted to EBCC will provide the EBCC MTEA Selection Committee with a list of the top submitted abstracts that involve multidisciplinary work.

The EBCC MTEA Selection Committee will select among these top abstracts based on the criteria of excellence, innovation and impact for the patient and society.

Then, the committee will invite the multidisciplinary team of the selected abstract to submit a 2-page outline of the importance of the present work and the next steps the team plans to take.

Only one multidisciplinary team will be selected to receive this award.
