FELLOWSHIP GRANTS

Individual Fellowships (developing countries)

Fellowships for individuals from developing countries (applied to individuals from low-income and lower-middle-income economies according to the World Bank listing).

The EBCC-13 Organising Committee will award a number of fellowship grants to young doctors, basic scientists, nurses and others involved in breast cancer care and advocacy, from developing countries to attend the European Breast Cancer Conference in Barcelona.

To be considered for a fellowship grant the applicant should:

  • submit a one page description of a project that optimizes breast cancer care in developing countries

  • provide a letter from the Head of the Department/Organisation stating that the applicant is not the recipient of any other financial support

  • provide a one page CV

  • upon acceptance of the fellowship: to display a poster describing the project that optimizes breast cancer care in developing countries

Applications close: 19 August

Each fellowship grant shall be worth a free registration, free accommodation for a maximum of 3 nights and reimbursement of travel costs up to a maximum of 1000 EUR (reimbursement after the conference).

The EBCC-13 Committee will decide who will receive a fellowship grant.

The EBCC-13 Committee will award a number fellowship grants to young doctors, basic scientists, nurses and others involved in breast cancer care and advocacy, from limited resources countries to attend the European Breast Cancer Conference in Barcelona.

We welcome applications by individuals from Eastern Europe and low income countries.

To be considered for a fellowship grant the applicant should:

  • Submit an abstract to EBCC-13. Applicants whose abstracts have been accepted for oral or poster presentation will be considered first.

  • be under the age of 40

  • provide a letter from the Head of the Department/Organisation stating that the applicant is not the recipient of any other financial support

  • provide a two page CV (including date of birth)

Europa Donna Fellowships

The Organising Committee will award five EUROPA DONNA fellowships to breast cancer advocates.

To be considered for a EUROPA DONNA Fellowship the following criteria should apply:

  • breast cancer survivor

  • under the age of 40 years at diagnosis and currently under 45 years of age

  • fluent in English

  • demonstrated some involvement in breast cancer advocacy work for at least one year

To apply:

The individual must provide a short abstract (400 words) about their current advocacy activities and indicate why EBCC-13 will be important to their future advocacy work. This paper should be submitted to the Head Office of EUROPA DONNA for the Board to review.

Each fellowship grant shall be worth a free registration, free accommodation for a maximum of 3 nights and reimbursement of travel costs up to a maximum of 500 EUR (reimbursement after the conference).
